In 1990 Chris moved into the field of independent consultancy and spent four years as the Director of the world's largest specialist security consultancy in London.

He is also a SANS alumni in Advanced Intrusion Detection, firewalls, authentication, and VPNs. He has caried out a major security disaster recovery review for a number of Middle Eastern banks and UK insurance companies.

Chris was educated at Kings College Canterbury, The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, The Royal Military College of Science, Shrivenham and the School of Military Engineering, Chatham. He has passed the final examinations as a Quantity Surveyor and has qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security and has passed the qualification examination as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP). He is Chairman of the Association of Security Consultants and Chairman of the Joint Security Industry Council of the UK (JSIC) and Chairman of the JSIC UK Counter Terrorist Comittee.
